Is the air around Legacy Farms safe?
Yes.
The smell is not harmful and cannot make anyone high. We use carbon filters and are able to close greenhouse walls during strong odour periods.

Are harmful chemicals used at Legacy Farms?
No.
We use Health Canada–approved products, and only as a last resort. We rely on organic pest control, integrated pest management and regular monitoring.
What pest control products does Legacy Farms use?
We follow Health Canada's list of approved products for cannabis cultivation. Our approach is based on:

Integrated Pest Management (IPM): We focus on prevention first–using natural predators, monitoring and organic methods.

Minimal spraying: We only use pesticides when absolutely necessary.

Strict product standards: When treatment is needed, we draw from a Health Canada-approved list of pest control products designed specifically for greenhouse crops and cannabis.

We do not use all of the products on the approved list. Our selection depends on plant needs, pest pressure and environmental conditions.

Could anything leak into the soil or water?
No.
Plants are grown in pots, not in the ground. We also use drip irrigation, which means minimal water runoff. We use buffer strips which help absorb anything that might escape.
How does Legacy Farms protect the environment and community?
We follow Six Nations Cannabis Control laws and regulations. We have engaged environmental consultants to complete assessments and followed all recommendations. We are currently investing in odour and climate control technology.
